The Top 5 Wedding Trends you Can’t Ignore for 2020.

Oct 19, 2019

2020 is quickly approaching, and I’m sure many of those lucky couples who became engaged are doing plenty of research about tips and trends for wedding ceremonies. When you tie the knot I’m sure you want it to be the most momentous day in your life. You probably also wish to share that special moment with all your guests so they too remember how amazing it was. The following is a brief list of some of the most exciting and new ideas for that special day.

1. Sustainability

What are some alternatives to plastic and styrofoam decorations? Well, you can hold parties for creating your own DIY decorations from old t-shirts, baskets made from brown compostable paper, you name it! Try holding your wedding at a nature reserve, if one is nearby. What better way to celebrate a wedding than in the scenic outdoors? Purchase all alcohol wholesale and in bulk, rather than lots and lots of cans or glass bottles. While you certainly can recycle both cans and glass bottles, it’s better to buy in bulk – wine can often come in a cardboard box, (as odd as it sounds), reducing waste that can’t decompose. Also, buy kegs for beer! For party favors, hand out cute succulents that everyone will love.

2. Self-Service Bars

What if you simply don’t know all those fancy names for drinks, and just want to have fun mixing as your heart (and stomach!) desires? A new trend for weddings is for guests to have the freedom to make their own drinks and cocktails. It also helps you save on hiring a special mixologist for the whole day. Plus, it can be a fun interactive way of getting your guests involved in the action, instead of sitting down for three to five-course meals.

3. Quirky activities, such as tarot card readings or magic shows

Imagine having your guests line up to have their palms read and being told about their futures in romance. Doesn’t that sound like fun? Or being entertained by magicians going around each table to offer shows to your guests. Don’t be afraid to stand out of the crowd with interesting and provocative wedding activities!

4. Brightly colored wedding cakes

Think all wedding cakes have to be plain white? Think again! For the coming year, we’re seeing more and more requests for neon colors, pastels, even glitter on wedding cakes. You can definitely make your wedding cake as unique and memorable as you are!

5. Minimalism

Does everything have to be studded or covered in sequins? We don’t think so. Minimalism doesn’t have to mean boring – it means elegant, sleek, and classic. Consider a single tone wedding dress for your special day.

Well, that’s a brief list of wedding trends we’re seeing for 2020. What do you think about them? While there’s something endearing about conventional weddings, thinking outside the box will intrigue your guests perhaps start a trend for your engaged guests to follow! Regardless, there are many creative ideas that you can adopt for your wedding ceremony – just don’t be too shy to try them out.
